I’m John Amos Tan. I build AI products, data platforms, and business systems—with ownership from the first working model to the details that make it useful.

Selected work / Engineering portfolio
Built with purpose.
Five selected projects. AI integration, market data, financial workflows, and everyday products.
01 / BUSINESS SYSTEMSIn staging
JC Lucas ERPNext
AI assistance with real permission boundaries.
A staging ERPNext implementation alongside an internal AI assistant connected through a typed, authenticated bridge. Human confirmation and user permissions govern writes.
A Bybit market archive covering collection, validation, storage, historical charts, and research tools. Built around completed candles and verifiable synchronization.
A multi-party venture ledger for tracking contributions, expenses, income, and partner settlements. The interface keeps funding, reimbursement, deposits, and payouts distinct.
A personal-finance app connecting savings goals, funding history, assets, and liabilities. A garden interface makes progress visible, with net-worth history and assumption-based planning.
A coffee journal with guest drafts, shot comparisons, and opt-in sharing. Built with careful boundaries between a personal journal and public discovery.
Care for the system. Accountability for the result.
AI accelerates my workflow. Engineering judgment determines what ships.
01 / Understand the workflow
Start with the real problem.
Business rules, data boundaries, and the person using the product shape the implementation. In the ERP project, that means making approvals and handoffs explicit.
02 / Make the boundaries explicit
Design for control.
Keep responsibilities clear. Separate an AI assistant from system credentials. Separate completed market data from an open candle. Make important assumptions visible.
03 / Verify the work
Own what gets built.
I use AI agents with guardrails and review their output against requirements. Tests, data validation, and deployment checks help turn generated work into a system I can explain.
Beyond the studio
A career across connected systems.
From embedded control to quantitative platforms and AI products, I’ve worked where software meets real operating constraints.
Co-building an AI-assisted software-delivery platform on a two-person team, with end-to-end engineering ownership. Built Timeline, initial Mission Control versions, redispatch, and GitHub connections.
CrewCentral
Founding Engineer
Co-building a workforce-management platform used by approximately 10 businesses. Delivered labor management, training and development, shift swaps, and ChatGPT plugins.
QuantM Alpha
Quantitative Developer
Building trading execution and digital-asset risk systems, including a Bybit grid engine, live market-data integration, and Linux deployment with monitoring.
Discernere Technologies
Quantitative Developer
Built Python analytics, backtesting and risk dashboards, REST APIs, and forecasting-to-signal pipelines for the trading team.
Advanced Energy
Software Design Engineer
Developed C firmware for power supplies and battery backup systems, with Python test automation and hardware-in-the-loop tools.
AI StackWorks, CrewCentral, and QuantM Alpha are concurrent roles under the same employer. PRAI Systems is my independent studio.
The person behind PRAI
Curious across domains. Grounded in the details.
My background connects electronics, software, and product building. I studied Electronics and Communications Engineering at De La Salle University and completed a postgraduate diploma in Power Electronics at Mapúa University.
PRAI Systems is where I bring those interests together: independent projects that give me room to own the whole system, explore an idea, and work through the details myself.
